Terms and Conditions

LoveHint is an app designed to help two people in a relationship stay connected: send each other emotional signals, share special dates and plans, keep a diary, play together, look after a virtual farm and build shared memories inside a private "link" between both accounts, created with an invitation code.

LoveHint is exclusively for people over 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your country, if different). By accepting these terms you declare, under your own responsibility, your real date of birth. We have no technical way to verify your age biometrically or in person: if you enter a false date in order to sign up, that is solely your responsibility, not ours, and your account will be deleted without prior notice as soon as we detect it or it is reported to us (including a report from your own partner). If you are a parent or guardian and find that a minor is using LoveHint with false information, write to us at lovehint.app@gmail.com and we will delete the account immediately.

Your account is identified anonymously when you install the app; you can back it up by linking a Google account (or an Apple account, on iPhone) from your Profile. You are responsible for keeping access to your device and your account secure, and for everything that happens through it.

When using LoveHint, you agree NOT to:

• Use the app to harass, threaten, control, humiliate or harm another person, including your partner.
• Use live location, signals or other features to monitor, track or control another person. Sharing your location is always the decision of the person sharing it, who can turn it off at any time.
• Impersonate another person or create a link with someone without their consent.
• Send illegal, abusive, violent or hateful content, or content that harms the honor, privacy or dignity of any person.
• Share images of another person without their consent (the right to one's own image is protected by Article 15 of the Peruvian Civil Code).
• Distribute, share or display intimate or sexual images, videos or audio without the consent of the people who appear in them, including digitally altered or generated material. In Peru this is a crime (Article 154-B of the Criminal Code).
• Upload content that infringes the copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property of third parties, or any material that violates the rights of minors.
• Upload photos, screenshots or documents that are not yours, or material taken from external websites — LoveHint's camera and gallery are only for your own memories as a couple, not for storing or distributing other people's files.
• Try to access accounts, links or data that do not belong to you.
• Use the app in a way that interferes with its normal operation (reverse engineering, automated scraping, intentional overloading of the service, use of programs that imitate the app, etc.).

• The content you upload (photos, messages, profile answers, notes) is yours and you are its sole direct legal owner and responsible party. You represent and warrant that you are its author or have the authorization of its author and rights holders and, if someone else appears in a photo, that you have their consent to share it.
• We do not pre-approve, control or exhaustively monitor what users upload. Therefore, to the extent permitted by law, we assume no civil, criminal or administrative liability for a user's content that infringes third-party copyright or intellectual property, or that harms the honor, personal and family privacy or dignity of any person: those legal consequences are borne exclusively and individually by whoever uploaded it.
• Photos can only come from your camera or your own gallery — the app does not accept images from links or external files, precisely so that it is not used as a container for other people's documents.
• By uploading content you grant us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide license solely to store, process and display it within LoveHint, only to you and your linked partner, for the sole purpose of making the app work (including through our technical providers, such as Google Firebase). The license ends when you delete that content or your account. We do not use your content for advertising or show it to other users. We do not manually review the private content between the two of you, unless necessary to investigate a report of misuse or to comply with the law (we act as a technical intermediary, not as an editor).
• We are not responsible for leaks or disclosure of your content caused by screenshots, recordings or downloads made by your linked partner, or by the loss or theft of your own device.
• Material involving child sexual exploitation, or distributing intimate content without consent, results in the immediate removal of the account and a report to the relevant authorities, to whom we may hand over the account's registration information when required by law.

• You can report inappropriate content or behavior from Settings → Security → "Report a problem".
• You can end your link at any time without deleting your account, from Settings → Security → "End link": what you shared with that person is deleted and they are blocked so they cannot invite you again.
• Notice and takedown: if a user or a third party believes that content on LoveHint infringes their intellectual property or privacy rights, or violates these terms, they can notify us at lovehint.app@gmail.com stating which content it is and why. We will assess the request and, if the infringement is evident, we will remove or block that content as soon as possible.
• We may remove or block content, and temporarily suspend or permanently close an account, without prior notice, when it breaches these terms or the law, especially in cases of harassment, abuse, prohibited material or repeated violations, without this giving the infringing user any right to compensation.

The app's signals and other features are communication tools between two people — they do not replace professional help in situations of violence, mental health crises or emergencies. If you or your partner are in danger, contact your country's emergency services.

You have the right to delete your account and all your data at any time from Settings → "Delete my account", or by writing to lovehint.app@gmail.com. Deletion includes your profile, your diary, your photos and —if you had an active link— what you shared with your partner. Deleting your account or uninstalling the app does not cancel a Premium subscription purchased on Google Play or the App Store: you must cancel it there (see clause 13).

We use Google services (Firebase) to store your information securely, on servers located in the United States. Your profile and activity data are visible to you and your linked partner, according to how each feature is designed. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. For your mood, your diary and your live location we ask for a separate express consent, and for personalized ads, a prior consent that you can refuse. Details of what data we store, why, and how to exercise your rights are in our Privacy Policy, available in the app (Settings → "View Privacy Policy") and at lovehint.web.app/privacidad.

When required by law, or to investigate a report of illegal content, we may retain the related information and share it with the competent authorities (police, prosecutors, court order) within the applicable legal framework. We do not use this power to proactively monitor your content: we only act on a report, a legal obligation or a formal request from an authority.

We apply reasonable technical measures (server access rules, encryption in transit, authentication and verification that requests come from the original app) to protect your information. No system is 100% infallible: if a security breach compromising your personal data were to occur, we will notify you within the app or at the email associated with your account within a reasonable time, together with the measures taken to contain it.

LoveHint's design, name, achievements, question and idea banks and other original content belong to its creators. You are granted a personal, non-transferable and revocable license to use the app on your device; reverse engineering and unauthorized data extraction are prohibited. The content you create remains yours.

• What it includes: Premium removes or expands the limits of the free plan as detailed on the app's "LoveHint Premium" screen (for example: more signals per day, special dates and time capsules, more photos, the full timeline, live location sharing, couple games and cards with no daily limit, farm perks, extra doodle and diary tools, double coins per action and no ads). The exact limits of both the free plan and Premium may be adjusted and are those shown in the app at any given time. "Unlimited" never means unlimited storage or resources: reasonable fair-use limits apply.
• One subscription for both: a single active subscription activates Premium for the person who pays and for their linked partner while the link is active. If the link ends or the person who paid cancels or stops paying, Premium ends for both at the end of the period already paid.
• Price and payment: the price, currency and duration (monthly or yearly, as offered) are those you see in the store (Google Play or the App Store) before confirming the purchase; they may include taxes. Payment is processed by the store, not by us, and we never receive your card details.
• Renewal and cancellation: the subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it. You can cancel it whenever you want from Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → LoveHint (on iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions); you will keep Premium until the end of the period already paid. Uninstalling the app or deleting your account does not cancel the subscription.
• Trial period: every new account can use the Premium features free of charge during a trial period of the number of days shown by the app at sign-up, without asking for any payment method. When it ends, the account automatically switches to the free plan and nothing is charged, unless you purchase Premium. If at any time the store offers a free trial when subscribing, the conditions shown by the store before you confirm will apply.
• Refunds: purchases are governed by the store's refund policies and applicable law. There are no partial refunds for unused time of a period already started, except as required by law or by the store.
• Our right to change, suspend or cancel: we may modify Premium's features, limits and prices, and suspend or cancel a subscription or account in case of fraud, abuse, breach of these terms or irregular purchases (for example, abusive refunds or chargebacks). Price changes are announced within the app and the store asks you to accept them before they apply to your subscription.
• Coins and games: the app's coins are earned and spent within the app, are not sold for money and have no real economic power, have no monetary value, cannot be withdrawn or transferred outside LoveHint and may be adjusted or reset for technical reasons or abuse. Some games use chance mechanics (slots, roulette, cards) only with these coins: no real money is played and no cash or goods prizes are awarded. Since there is no gain or loss of money or of goods representing a market value, no betting contract exists.

The free version of LoveHint shows third-party ads through Google AdMob: banners, ads within lists, optional videos you can watch in exchange for an in-app benefit, and full-screen ads, which are always announced before they appear. Ads are only personalized according to your interests if you accept it beforehand; otherwise non-personalized ads are shown, and you can change your choice in Settings. As these are third-party advertising messages, it is not possible to control the content of each ad; therefore, if you see an inappropriate one, you can report it. With Premium no ads are shown.

LoveHint is provided "as is", without any guarantee of continuous availability or absence of errors. We are not responsible for outages of Firebase or Google Cloud, failures of your telecommunications operator or of your device's operating system. LoveHint does not provide medical or psychological assistance or couples therapy, and we assume no responsibility for interpersonal conflicts, breakups or life decisions made as a result of using the service, nor for harm resulting from the user's own carelessness or misuse of the app. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the app or for data loss caused by technical failures beyond our control. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be excluded (for example, for willful misconduct or gross negligence) or the rights granted to you by Peru's Consumer Protection and Defense Code.

You agree to defend and indemnify us against any claim, penalty or legal expense arising from: (a) misrepresenting your age or identity when signing up; (b) use of the app by a minor under your care or through your device; (c) content you upload that infringes the rights of third parties; (d) false information you give us that misleads LoveHint or third parties; or (e) any breach of these terms or of applicable law.

If LoveHint, its software or its commercial operation are sold, merged, acquired or restructured, the rights and obligations of these Terms and the associated databases may be transferred to the new owner, preserving the committed security measures. We will notify you in advance within the app, before a new management framework applies, so that you can decide whether to keep using the app or delete your account.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Peru. Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly will be submitted to the judges and courts of Lima, Peru, without prejudice to the rights granted to you by consumer protection rules, including the use of the Complaints Book (clause 20) and INDECOPI.

We may update this document. If there are important changes, we will let you know within the app and ask you to accept it again: those changes will not apply to your account until you accept them. If you do not agree, you can stop using the app and delete your account at any time.

In accordance with Peru's Consumer Protection and Defense Code (Law No. 29571), LoveHint has a virtual Complaints Book, available in the app (Settings → "Complaints Book") and at lovehint.web.app/reclamaciones. There you can file a claim (dissatisfaction with the service) or a complaint (dissatisfaction with customer service). You will receive a copy of your form by email and we will answer within the period set by law. Filing a claim does not prevent you from going to INDECOPI or other legal channels.
